Halifax Career Fair

The Halifax Career Fair, established in 1997, is a collaborative effort between Dalhousie, Mount Saint Vincent, and Saint Mary’s universities and as a result of this unique partnership has continued to be a success. This Fair originated from a need to provide students with career networking opportunities and assist recruiting organizations in identifying the best and brightest university students. Fortune 500 Companies, government agencies to the nation’s fastest growing local businesses have consistently participated throughout the event’s 10-year history contributing to its reputation among university students as “the event to attend”! Recruiters provide information about organizational culture, career opportunities, cooperative education programs and internships. What started out as a small gathering of organizations has grown exponentially to over 100 exhibitors, reflecting today’s competitive market to become known as an “employer of choice” among young educated candidates.

What Can You Expect?
Over 1200 students will attend the Halifax Career Fair. You will meet Dalhousie, Saint Mary’s and Mount St. Vincent students and alumni from diverse programs of study. Students from other universities in Nova Scotia
University of King's College, Université Sainte-Anne, Cape Breton University, St. Francis Xavier University and Acadia University) will also attend. Some students will arrive with a resume in hand eager to learn more about your organization and the opportunities you are offering; some are there to explore their career options, develop contacts, and gain a better understanding about the current job market, while others want to learn about cooperative education and internship programs. Providing information, engaging students in discussions and sharing your expert advice will create a memorable and valuable experience contributing to your reputation as an “employer of choice”.
